Certification through ASIS International allows security professionals across the globe to propel their careers forward while also providing them with the tools necessary to effectively influence the security culture across a broad spectrum of domains. ASIS International has developed three certifications for professionals serious about increasing their knowledge and advancing their careers:
"The Certified Protection Professional (CPP)® credential provides demonstrable proof of knowledge and management skills in eight key domains of security. Those who earn the CPP are ASIS board-certified in security management." https://www.asisonline.org/Certification/Board-Certifications/CPP/Pages/
"The Professional Certified Investigator (PCI)® credential provides demonstrable proof of an individual's knowledge and experience in case management, evidence collection, and preparation of reports and testimony to substantiate findings. Those who earn the PCI are ASIS board-certified in investigations." https://www.asisonline.org/Certification/Board-Certifications/PCI/Pages/default.aspx
"The Physical Security Professional (PSP)® credential provides demonstrable knowledge and experience in threat assessment and risk analysis; integrated physical security systems; and the appropriate identification, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of security measures. Those who earn the PSP are ASIS board certified in physical security." https://www.asisonline.org/Certification/Board-Certifications/PSP/Pages/
With regards to the security field, the certifications offered by ASIS International are of the highest standard, signifying a professional who is committed to providing a secure environment through an in-depth knowledge of the current threat environment and the tools available to thwart those threats.
In order to assist local professionals seeking an ASIS Certification, the Chicago chapter hosts annual study groups that utilize experienced, certified professionals, ASIS-approved resources, and classroom-style learning and support to prepare attendees for the rigorous testing process.
Meetings for annual study groups are held weekly, usually beginning near the start of the year and progressing through the spring. Participation is FREE, but seating is reserved and limited. Those interested in the next round of meetings should contact the Chapter's Certification Chairperson for more information.
